I bought someone's Yogurt in line behind me yesterday at Menchie's - Pay It Forward

We took a walk over to the Town Center yesterday with the dogs and went over to Menchie's.

I love Menchie's because the frozen yogurt there is de-lish and you get all the free samples you want!

Anyway, while I was in line getting my yogurt weighed, I noticed a kid behind me loading up on all kinds of things!

I thought to myself "that is going to weigh a ton"

He was a young kid and so I thought it would be nice to pay for his yogurt for him.

So I told the clerk to add it to my bill.

I had left the store before he realized that his yogurt was paid for, so I didn't have a chance to see the expression on his face.

I actually went back about 15 minutes afterwards to get an extra couple of napkins and the clerk told me the kid thought it was the coolest thing ever that someone paid for his yogurt!

I hope I planted something in this young man's mind about Paying It Forward................

Hey Ralph,

Thanks for planting a wonderful seed in the mind of that young man.  And thanks for reminding us of the great opportunities we get to do big things in a small way.  Best of success to you sir!

Love all these random acts of kindness. The smallest things seem to go over a big way -- like paying the toll of the car behind you, coming up with the someone's shortage at the grocery line....

Keep paying it forward...the world will be the better for it....

Recently I had my first Menchie's experience. That place is dangerous. I watched a woman pay for a $16 treat!!!!

Paying it forward is a good way to develop a positive attitude for the day.  You are setting a good example for all of us.

I went to Menchie's on Saturday, but it was my dad who paid it forward (or back) and bought me a yogurt.

Ralph, We know you planted seeds.  If the seeds do not grow in the people we pay it forward to, kindness is never wasted.  The seeds will find their way to someone else.  All acts of kindness and love are eternal and expand the consciousness of the planet.  I think what you did was pretty cool too! I was telling a friend the other day that being in this group has caused me to be hyper-mindful of paying it forward.  I'm so selfish ... it feels so darn good :-)

This is the best way to pay it forward.  The spontaneous acts of kindness mean we are present and kind.  What could be better?

I bet you walked with a little more spring in your step the rest of the day. Helping others benefits both the sender and receiver.

Ralph, I LOVE doing that.  But I usually do it in a drive-thru so I don't embarrass that person.  One time I left a card and she actually called me to say thank you.

That's great, Ralph. Cool way (ha, ha - frozen yogurt) to bridge a generational gap.
