Our time with Belle..................
We have some clients in Stevenson Ranch, CA, which we have their home listed for sale.
The property has many nice features.
Meet Belle.
Belle would always come to greet us at the door whenever we had a showing.
Half the reason is because she was happy to see you, and the other half is because of the "watch-dog" in her.
Sometimes Belle could be a little too friendly, so most of the time if we have a showing on the home, Belle would need to spend a few minutes in the garage while the buyers and their agent would view the home.
Getting Belle to cooperate wasn't always an easy task, but for those times when she would be a little too sly, we would have to go nuclear and bust out the doggie snacks to coax her into the garage!
Belle is one of those dogs with a great disposition. A great "Pal" dog as I would call it.
During our last showing on the home a couple of days ago, our client informed us that Belle had passed away.
It was such a shock to us, and as every pet owner knows, it's just not easy dealing with the loss of a pet.
Yes, their life spans are significantly shorter than ours, but nonetheless the void that occurs once their gone takes some time to deal with.
As we all know, dogs are 100% unconditional love and companionship. Two qualities that are always in high demand, and sometimes hard to find in other humans.
They have a special sense that we know exists.
I can remember with my little guys the times where I've been sick and having to rest in bed. They somehow know and will stay right next to you as if to say "I'm right here with you until you're back on your feet again"
Just wanted to write this blog and give a shout out to all of the pet owners out there and maybe we can all take just a second to think about Belle as you see her picture. I truly believe that every living thing has a spirit that moves on to the next plane of existence once they leave here, and that a special connection happens when you think of them.
Maybe as a result of reading this blog you can either do something exceptionally nice for your pet, or perhaps make a donation to one of your animal rescue organizations.
It actually is comforting knowing that Belle had a really nice life with our clients. We know it was a happy life for the 8 years spent with them and their children.
Good energy and positive light to our clients, and of course to all of my blog monsters out there.
Peace.....

Dogs are truly a man's best friend mine are part of the family. When a pet dies it is difficult to the family.
Never trust anyone that does not love animals. Thanks for the post to remind us to take the extra time to let these precious beings know that they are loved.
Ralph,
This is a very nice tribute to Belle. She was a beautiful dog and I know the owners are mourning her loss. A pet is family! They take care of their owners with unconditional love. I'm glad you had a chance to meet her and get to know her and I know you'll be there for her owners now, more than ever.
For the love of Belle, I hope her owners find some peace and consolation knowing that it's people like you who cares about them.
Patricia
If a canine can be elegant I'd say Belle captures elegance. We have all likely lost pets and I think better to have loved and lost than never loved at all.... They add so much to our lives.
Ralph, how thoughtful of you to write this tribute to Belle. It's very difficult to lose a pet, they are part of the family and they do leave a void once they are gone from our lives.
Goodbye Belle. Rest in peace.
I'm so sorry Belle passed away, what a great tribute. It seems Belle added so much energy and love. Sorry for your loss. :) Gail
Anybody who enjoys their pets, especially dogs, will enjoy reading your comments. Dogs can sometimes be nasty but I don't think I've ever run into one that's vindictive or criminally minded. (I do think cats may be a different matter.) That alone elevates them a step higher than many people I meet and I'm sorry to say that. I've had a number of dogs come into my life over the years and then leave far too quickly. Thanks for taking a few minutes to write about Belle. Very well done.
Ralph,
Thanks for the post. My beloved greyhound passed away last fall. Their time with us is both precious and fleeting. To this day I regret all the times I was too tired or busy to take Rocket on a walk.
Looks like there's a tear on the ole keyboard...
Belle, I'm sure you brought such joy to your human family. Rest in peace.
Thanks, Ralph. My puppies just got two big old hugs!!!
So sad! What a nice tribute you wrote for her. I feel sad for the family. We once had a Weimaramer, they are beautiful dogs.
Ralph ~ the loss of a pet can almost be overwhelming. Their unconditional love and devotion to their owner goes unmatched. May Belle rest in peace and my her owners have some peace knowing that they may see Belle again some day.
It's sad, and yet . . . Belle was loved and had a very good life. These are the things that I think of when I lose a pet, or know of someone who has. The loss of companionship is hard, and the missing them is even harder. Belle was loved and cared for.
What a nice tribute to Belle! It is a shame their lives are so much shorter than ours.....love them while you can!!!
You know, a good friend of mine stated that the universe has a way of making things right.
I once again brought up the fact that their lives are so much shorter than ours, and she reminded me that since dogs are so loyal, if their lives were longer than ours, they would be somewhat lost without us once we're gone, and this is how the universe makes it right that their lives are shorter than ours.
That makes sense to me, and gives me peace with that.
