SPROUTS Farmer's Market - My new favorite place to shop!!
Sprouts is a newly expanding (or exploding) chain of indoor farmer's market type of grocery stores.
They ROCK!!
They are sort of like Whole Foods at Trader Joe's pricing.
There is one opening within walking distance from my home in Santa Clarita, but not until September 1st.
In the meantime, I was able to visit the newly opened location in Pasadena.
I was like a kid in a candy store!! For those of my peeps that know me well, I tend to be fairly frugal when it comes to spending money on clothes, cars, and things that are typically "material".
But when it comes to food, I don't minding spending a few extra bucks on good, wholesome, REAL food. I feel it is one of the most important things you can invest in because it dictates your health, happiness and productivity in your life.
But I'm thrilled with Sprouts, because now I can get the best of both worlds - good food and good prices!
On my trip to the Pasadena store, they were still under the Grand Opening phase, so they had some unbelievable promotions going on. Broccoli crowns at 49 cents a pound, chocolate almond milk not only at a great price but buy one get one free!!
I had brought 2 re-usable bags into the store with me, and ended up having to break down and use 3 more of the stores paper bags because I ended up buying so much.
Right now, Sprouts has locations in California, Arizona, Colorado, and Texas. And I'm hoping that they keep on expanding because I feel it is SO important for people to have good, healthy food available to them at affordable prices.

Farmer's markets rock. I haven't seen a Sprouts, but every neighborhood in Seattle seems to have farmers market and a few are open year around.
My sister lives in Santa Clarita, so I am going to have to ask her if she has gone to Sprouts; and I might just have to visit it the next time I go see her.
That is great to find a new place to shop! There are a lot of competitors moving into the markets making shopping better for the consumer.
Sprouts hasn't made it this way but we do have Fresh Markets which are a chain and fantastic. Not necessarily economical, but, exceptionally presented fresh foods and they do put weekly items on sale.
It's a pleasure just to walk through the Fresh Market store and impossible to leave without purchasing something. It sounds like the same is true of Sprouts.

Sprouts sounds wonderful. Wish we had them up here. We do have Whole Foods, and I just love their heirloom tomatoes. Ok, I'm curious - what are you going to be cooking with 5 bags of vegetables?
Sounds so good! ENJOY! We do have a great Farmer's Market on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Here in my little spot in the world our grocery store still does multi tasking. Hardware on aisle 2. lol. That's what you get in a town of 2600.
Ralph,
They are a great store. We have them in the Dallas area just none convenient to where I live.
Hi Ralph - Lucky you to have a Sprouts near you. I love that kind of store.
