I was just reading online this morning about the death of yet another celebrity (Cory Haim) from what appears to be related to a substance abuse problem.
I think I have just about had it with this! I do not blame the users of the drugs half as much as the pushers of the drugs.
People who are suppliers or traffickers of drugs are the LOWEST form of species, and need to be exterminated. How can you possibly make a profit by getting people hooked on drugs to the point where their body just deteriorates away until they die?
If I had one person in front of me right now who is related in any way to soliciting drugs, I would shoot them in the head!!
And quite frankly, I'm not sure what the difference is between a doctor writing prescriptions for unnecessary drugs and some piece of dirt who is pushing cocaine on the street.
This makes me SO angry!

Ralph, you are right about drug pushers being scum, but ultimately everybody has to take responsibility for their own choices. Cory Haim was a full grown man who had the wherewithall to get the help he needed.
Ralph * Michael Douglas' son is blaming being the son of a CELEBRITY for his drug addiction AND Redmond O'Neil is not to have contact with his dad because his DAD is a junkie!!!
These kids need jobs like the Kardashian girls
Well having an opinion is a good thing but a wise person knows what he can and can't do about the worlds issues.

Ralph...
The only one to blame is the one that made the conscious choice to put drugs in their bodies. There would be NO pushers or drug dealers if no one used them.
Malcolm,
It's not that easy. Addictions are a very powerful thing in humans. They come about when someone has a strong psychological issue in their life, and there are people who prey on that.
And once you have a serious addiction, most of the time there is no real "wherewithall".
It's easy for people like you and I who do not have a substance abuse issue (I'm assuming) to say it's easy to get help.
But my point is the help would not be necessary if it were not for those pond scum individuals who solicit the substances.
Richard,
It is quite the opposite.
There are people out there every day who prey on people's addictions.
Ever ate at a fast food chain yourself? Well, I suppose you had the conscious choice to put that junk into your body, right?
But the fast food chain made it so readily available and made it seem so attractive to you for many reasons, right?
There's no difference between that and this.
Shelton,
That is quite true. And what I CAN do is write a blog post to encourage awareness and discussion instead of sitting back and doing absolutely nothing.
I think that is the wisest thing I can do.
I don't think you're very wise at all if you think there's nothing you can do about it.
Ralph, I also feel anger ... great post for venting your anger. I heard yesterday that Marie Osmond's son jumped from a roof top killing himself. Was he on drugs? Look forward to reading your post on awarness as you mentioned above.
Hello Ralph! Unbelievable!! It is amazing how many people want to try to fix things with a orange colored bottle!! What a shame...
Ralph, I think doctors who prescribe pain pills or any highly and easily addicted prescriptions to patients, and "knowing" they are using it for "drug purpose" are more guilty than drug dealers.
Ralph I to am angry about this. These celebrities are the ones that most our children watch and in some way or another look up to and it's sad and oh so scary that this is what they get to see happen. It seems more often then not that the deaths in the celebrity world are more related to drugs these days. If being a celebrity is so tough then I say "QUIT"!
Ralph, as someone involved in law enforcement, it is getting worse. Our children are exposed to drugs and their effects daily. The bad thing is that a great percentage of our youth come from broken homes, those parents and their live in partners are the culprits.
The sad thing about this story is that it was PRESCRIPTION medication that was found to be the cause of the OD. Either way, it is a terrible tragedy for ANYONE to die due to over indulgence of anything. Drugs, alcohol, food.....
I agree we need to get rid of the problem the question seems to be how?
Ralph..
This is a touchy subject that is easy to get angry about. I feel angry, too. The whole situation is so sad. It's too bad we can't seem to find a solution to the problem.
Yes, if the demand disappears, the supply will, too.
But it IS hard to see whether the egg or the chicken came first.
