My sister had emailed me these photos and I was blown away by them.
They are photos taken by photographer Norbert Rosing.
His striking images are of a wild polar bear coming upon tethered sled dogs in the wilds of Canada's Hudson Bay.
The photographer was sure that he was going to see the end of his dogs when the polar bear wandered in.
It's hard to believe that this polar bear only needed to hug someone!
The Polar Bear returned every night that week to play with the dog.
Check it out:

The third one back I thought oh oh..dog sandwich. But nope, that bear must be well fed and a gentle ben.
That polar bear must not have been hungry. Oh, and after the photos were taken they all had a Coke Classic.
Wow, those pictures are amazing. Never would have thought that polar bear would do that unless it had been staged.
Not only are there lonely people out there, there are animals as well! Everone needs a hug once in awhile.

Wow! These put a smile on my face. My family has a thing for polar bears. I can't wait to share these with my husband and son.
Awww...sooo cute!
Ralphster ~ Very cool pictures, thanks for sharing them. It looks like the Polar bear is patting the dog on the head and saying calm down there little doggie or I'll bite your head off... lol Good pics!
Aawwww indeed. That is awesome! They look cute together :) ~Rita
It is amazing how they interact with each other, very cute.
Ralph, those pictures blow my mind. It is amazing that those dogs are still alive.
Hi Ralph ~ I love polar bears and these photos are awesome. Too cool - and too sweet.

I have to admit, it was a little tense seeing each photo progress ... but so glad it had a happy ending!
I have to agree w/ Maureen. I was waiting to see the polar bear take a chunk out of that dog. That looks like the Coca-Cola polar bear.

Thanks Ralph - I have seen these before and they are heart-warming. Nature never ceases to amaze.
Very Cool!!
I agree looks like the Coke Cola Bear....maybe they should make a commercial with them.
Ralph, That is a very interesting post. Great object lesson here. Often we fear when there is really no need. An agressive enemy just might be looking for a little friendship. Thanks for the post!
Unbelievable, I just love the photos. Wonder where he gets his hugs when the dogs are not around.
