The Universal Studios Hollywood Theme Park is located in the San Fernando Valley, California, just east of the Studio City neighborhoods of Laurel Grove, Tujunga Village, and Colfax Meadows.
Universal Studios Hollywood Theme Park is one of the oldest and most famous Hollywood movie studios. Known worldwide as "The Entertainment Capital of LA", its original purpose was to offer tours of the real soundstages and sets used in so many famous movies.
You can actually go behind-the-scenes on the legendary Studio Tour to explore Hollywood’s most famous back lot, which extends 13 city blocks on 4 acres, and is the world’s largest working movie studio.
In addition to the studio tours, for those of you who are brave enough to do so, you will be able to partake of many unbelievable rides and attractions.
One of the most amazing rides that you will never forget is “Transformers™: The Ride-3D”, which is a completely immersive thrill ride, combining fiction and reality, HD 3D media, and flight simulation technology.
For those of you not of the faint at heart, you will want to experience the award-winning King Kong 360 3-D ride, which is the world’s largest 3-D experience. Your survival instincts will kick into full swing as you find yourself caught in the middle of a terrifying struggle between a 35-foot T-Rex, straight out of prehistoric times, and the famous King Kong.
And if your taste for dinosaurs and large, terrifying creatures has not been satisfied, you might want to give the Jurassic Park raft attraction a spin. Come face-to-face with “living” dinosaurs, a 50-foot T-Rex, and a treacherous drop straight down an 84-foot death-defying raft plunge.
After all that excitement, you can calm down with a tasty meal at one of the theme restaurants, such as the Hollywood Grill , which is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and serves specialties such as, Pizza Hut personal pan pizzas and breadsticks, fabulous funnel cakes freshly made to order, signature salads, famous Philly cheese steak sandwiches, gourmet mac & cheese, and stir fry Asian chicken.
If you are looking for dining that will take you back in time to the 50’s, try Mel’s Diner, which features premium 1/2 Lb burgers, grilled chicken sandwiches, thick and creamy milkshakes, and a selection of desserts.
