“Los Angeles 411” Enjoy the day at the Peter Strauss Ranch in Agoura Hills, California

Enjoy the day at this enchanting place known as the Peter Strauss Ranch in Agoura Hills, California!

This amazing and enchanting vision of a place was originally inhabited by the Chumash people.

Then at the turn of the century, Henry Miller purchased the land as a retreat from his busy life at the automobile factory in Los Angeles.  Unfortunately, during the Depression Henry Miller attempted to develop the aircraft-engine that resulted in his financial demise. Mr. Miller lost the ranch as well as his dreams.

There were other owners of the ranch as well as other visions for this amazing place! Unfortunately, unforeseen circumstances took place, until actor Peter Strauss came into the picture.

Peter Strauss fell in love with the ranch while filming a movie there and purchased the ranch! Mr. Strauss restored the ranch back to its original beauty and lived there until 1983.

Today, the Peter Strauss Ranch is proudly owned by the Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy since 1987 and is dedicated to the preservation of our natural history.
