Sears - A very cool thing you may want to know this Holiday season.............Pay It Forward
A dear friend of mine, Faith Minton (love her!), recently let me know about this.
By law, when someone serves in the military, their employer is required to hold their jobs open and available to them, but nothing more. Usually, people take a big pay cut and lose benefits as a result of being called up for active duty.
Sears is voluntarily paying the difference in salaries and maintaining all benefits, including medical insurance and bonus programs, for all called up reservist employees for up to two years.
To verify this, Faith emailed Sears management, and this is the response she received:
Dear Customer:
Thank you for contacting Sears. The information is factual. We appreciate your positive feedback.
Sears regards service to our country as one of greatest sacrifices our young men and women can make. We are happy to do our part to lessen the burden they bear at this time.

Both Faith and I feel that Sears should be recognized and commended for going against the trend to provide some job security to those men and women serving our country.
Even if Sears would not be your first choice, perhaps it is possible this Holiday season to purchase at least one thing at Sears to show your recognition and support for their policy.
If you do, make sure you find a manager and tell them you heard about their policy on ActiveRain, you are a proud member of the Pay It Forward angels, and that is the reason why you have chosen to shop at their establishment.
If there is not a location near you, then perhaps online at http://www.sears.com/
Much love, prosperity, and positive energy to you all this Holiday season,
The Ralphster
