Pay It Forward - I just became a member of the Kiwanis Club and pledged a corporate sponsorship
One of the members of my networking group is a non-profit member.
His name is Carson Schreiber and is the President of the Kiwanis Entertainment Industry Group in Studio City, CA
I've learned through Carson that the Kiwanis Club sponsors a high-school program called "Key-Clubs"
Key Clubs are group of high school students, under the guidance of a school counseler and Kiwanis Key Club Member, sponsors events and goes on outings while at the same time working with the students on guidance and mentoring with real-world and business coaching and information.
I've been wanting to get involved with high school students for a long time now, and didn't know how to go about doing it.
I feel it is CRITICALLY important to help give guidance to high school students to let them know the true endless possibilities they have, regardless of where they are at now in school.
Some kids have issues and may have not received much encouragement from their home lives for various reasons and I find that typically these kids end up drifting in a direction that will cause them regrets later on in their lives.
I don't want that to happen! I see where some of these kids end up due to no one being there to encourage them to not be afraid of their dreams.
I'll probably write a blog post about that subject matter in the future, but for now I'm so thrilled to become a Kiwanis Key-Club member and be able to work with some of these high school kids.
I'll keep you all posted through the year as to the events and my experiences with this.
I plan on letting these kids know a little about how real estate works, and with my degree in Business Administration, and my background in the music and entertainment industry, hopefully I can help some kids get excited about other areas of business or the arts.
