The RMS Queen Mary is a beautiful ocean liner that is retired and permanently docked in Long Beach, California.
The Queen Mary sailed the North American Atlantic Ocean from 1936 to 1967 for the Cunard Line.
This amazing and elegant ship was built by John Brown & Company in Clydebank, Scotland.
The Queen Mary sailed on her debut maiden voyage on May 27, 1936. In August of that year, this exquisite ship obtained the Blue Riband.
Unfortunately, the Queen Mary lost the title in 1937 to the SS Normandie. However, in 1938 the Queen Mary won the title once again!
During World War II, the beautiful Queen Mary was used in order to transport and ferry Allied soldiers for the duration of the war.
The Queen Mary also became known as the Grey Ghost because of her great speed!
Today, this amazing piece of history serves now as a well known tourist attraction as well as a museum and grand hotel!
