This weekend my clan and I decided instead of going to our favorite beach like we did last weekend, we would purge out a lot of the stuff we do not use in our house.
I figure if we have not used something in a year or more than it needs to be donated, bartered, recycled or just plain tossed out!
In doing so, we were able to barter and trade a gun safe that my husband accumulated in one of his many scrapping pick ups, for a gorgeous and beautiful twin size bed set (that is bed bug free BTW) for my 4 year old.
My 4 your old had grown so much within the past few months, that we had to give his toddler bed away and get him another bed quick or else he would have had to bunk with us . Nope, we did not like that idea at all.
So that is where Craigslist came in, my very smart hubby posted an ad for the gun safe in the bartering section on this pretty awesome site and before we knew it we had so many wonderful responses to the ad. I could not believe it!
In the end, we were able to trade the gun safe for the beautiful bed that is now covered with a Spiderman comforter as well as many stuffed animals and a very happy little 4 year old!
So before you go out and purchase something brand new, try to barter and trade first. You never know what kind of opportunity will be knocking at your door or in this case on your computer screen!
Bye for now, until next week!
