Have you learned about timing from this last real estate cycle?
It's so interesting to me how varied and numerous opinions are when it comes to the real estate market.
When to buy, when to sell.............why to buy, why to sell.............what to buy, what to sell......... how to buy, how to sell.
Everyone has their opinion.
I remember many discussions in 2004-2005 about whether it is the right time to sell. So many people stated that it's the wrong time to sell because you'll lose out on potential equity.
Of course, [almost] no one could foresee the mortgage crisis that followed.
But my question is: Have you learned about timing when it comes to buying and selling residential real estate?
I can sort of equate this to a tennis match. I've been playing for over 30 years, and I also played NCAA Collegiate tennis.
The most important thing I've learned, which has helped me win many matches is.............how to lose effectively.
In other words, when I lose a tennis match, I'm disappointed and upset for about 2 seconds, and then I immediately start reflecting on what happened and everything I can learn from that match to carry forward into the future to help make me a better player and keep improving.
I feel the same principal applies to the real estate market.
Have you learned about mortgage loans and which are the right tools to accomplish your goals?
Have you learned about equity gains and the timing of buying and selling?
Have you learned how to recognize the signs of the cycles of residential real estate?
Have you learned how other segments of the economy and other investment markets effect the real estate market?
If you answered "NO" to any of the above questions, then I'm going to come over there and OOPS YOU UPSIDE YOUR HEAD!!
This was a HUGE opportunity and learning lesson for us all, so take advantage of the knowledge given to us from this last real estate cycle.
If you do so, it will make you a stronger, wiser investor.............and you won't end up with tennis elbow!!
Much love and positive energy,
The Ralphster
