President Obama,
I HOPE this makes it to you somehow.
I feel so fortunate to have you as our President. I totally understand that a man in your position needs to be "political" in order to function in a bi-partisan government and multi-ethnic, multi-religious, multi-cultural society.
But I see from your actions and speeches that you "get it". I truly feel that you know what this country so desperately needs, and how to handle yourself in order to get these things done as quickly as possible (in that sense, I don't envy you!! I know how tough this is going to be)
I just wanted to urge you - PLEASE push for the public option in the health care reform legislation.
We desperately need it and I feel that the public health care and pharmaceutical monopolies in this country really need a PURE shot of capitalism in order to keep them in check and let capitalism do what it was intended to do - let the competition of health care produce the intended benefits to the consumer in the form of affordable health care service.
I believe in you. I support you fully.
